Matt Jennings BTech MA MRAeS
Matt
Jennings served 27 years in the Royal Navy as a helicopter pilot, operating in a wide variety of roles and environments worldwide
and was an active helicopter instructor and examiner for over 20 years. He
commanded a front line Sea King squadron and later the Naval Flying Standards organisation and also worked in the Ministry
of Defence, briefing ministers and dealing with emergency planning and military aid to the civil community.
Matt
joined the Advisory Service of Shell Aircraft International in 2004, conducting audits of fixed and rotary wing
operators. He then joined the Air Safety and Global Projects team as a Senior Adviser, providing advice on safety and
operational aspects of aviation, including the introduction into service of new aircraft types and equipment.
Currently
qualified on the EC135 helicopter, he has completed an ISO 9000 Lead Auditor's course and is also a trained and experienced
aircraft accident investigator. An active member of the Royal Aeronautical Society,
he chairs the Rotary Wing sub-Group of an International Working Group developing
a new system for the classification of flight simulators for ICAO.
Matt has
audited extensively in Europe, North America, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia and Australia and is a fluent
French speaker. He left Shell Aircraft in 2008 to set up Aviation Safety Consulting Limited.
